A seasoned creative who specializes in art directing photo and video shoots, Ryan has produced award-winning visuals for iconic brands for over twenty years. As Vice President of Creative Services at Marquee Brands, he leads comprehensive photo and video productions for Martha Stewart’s omnichannel marketing campaigns, ensuring brand excellence across multiple touchpoints. His deep appreciation for the history of photography, paired with his editorial background and technical proficiency, gives him a sophisticated eye and unique understanding of visual storytelling, particularly in luxury home, lifestyle, and décor.
Prior to joining Marquee Brands, Ryan was photo director at Martha Stewart Living, where he art directed features and covers for this legendary title and oversaw the daily operations of the photo department.
Prior to Living, Ryan oversaw visuals for the Off Duty section of The Wall Street Journal across platforms, focusing on fashion, travel, tech, and home/décor. He has held similar roles at Life, Real Simple, and Money magazines.
His work has been recognized by the Society of Publication Designers, the Society of News Design and the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation. He is regularly invited to be a reviewer at portfolio reviews.
Ryan currently serves on the boards of the Society of Publication Design, the Bard College Alumni/ae Association, and the Dessoff Choirs, where he is also a singing member. He splits his time between New York City and Columbia County, NY.
